DAILY TIMES – STUDENTS TO MEET LAWYERS ABOUT CJP’S SUSPENSION

LAHORE: Students from across the city will meet lawyers on April 12 to express their solidarity with them over the suspension of the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

They will also participate in a rally on April 19 against the activities of Jamia Hafsa students to express their concern and to reject extremism.

Institute for Peace and Secular Studies (IPSS) founder Saeeda Deep said a meeting was held on Saturday to discuss the situation. Students from various schools, colleges and universities participated in the meeting. She said, “Students reject extremism. They decided to mobilise those who are unaware of the situation.”

She said it was decided in the meeting that students would meet the lawyers in Lahore and Karachi on April 12.

A number of students from the Lahore Grammar School, the Punjab University, the Government College University, the Lahore University of Management Sciences, the FC College, the Lahore School of Economics and the Kinnaird College attended the meeting.
